AHVED Support Center and Sante Plus Medical Center Bring Health and Hope to Over 900 Families During Back-to-School Initiative

From July 25th to July 27th, AHVED Support Center, in collaboration with Santé Plus Medical Center, successfully carried out the first three days of its annual Back-to-School campaign in Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, and Immokalee, Florida. These events served as more than just school supply giveaways—they were powerful moments of community, compassion, and care.

Over the course of the three-day initiative, more than 900 students received school kits, including backpacks filled with essential supplies for the new academic year. In addition to educational support, hundreds of families also received food kits, providing much-needed nourishment and relief to households preparing for the school year.

As part of their holistic approach to family well-being, the AHVED and Sante Plus team offered free physical exams for children and mammogram screenings for women on-site. This ensured that families not only felt ready for the classroom, but were also empowered to prioritize their health.

Event Highlights:

• July 25 – Fort Myers: The event kicked off in Fort Myers with an enthusiastic crowd. The atmosphere was energetic and welcoming, with lines forming early in the day. Families from various backgrounds—particularly within the Haitian and Hispanic communities—gathered to take advantage of the free services and connect with community resources.

• July 26 – Lehigh Acres: The second day brought the same spirit of service and support to Lehigh Acres. Smiles and gratitude filled the air as parents and children received supplies and medical care in a safe and organized environment.

  

July 27 – Immokalee: The final stop in Immokalee saw community members arriving as early as sunrise, forming lines outside the clinic in anticipation. The dedication and early turnout reflected how vital these resources are to local families.

Throughout the three days, AHVED and Santé Plus Medical Center worked hand-in-hand to ensure a smooth and inclusive experience. Special attention was given to underserved populations, with bilingual staff serving both Haitian Creole and Spanish-speaking families, ensuring that language was never a barrier to receiving help.
