AHVED respectfully acknowledges the tremendous support international governments, humanitarian agencies and NGOs have provided to St. Marc and other communities in Haiti for many years. However, international support has consistently emphasized humanitarian aid over systemic redevelopment of the nation’s economy and infrastructure. AHVED believes in order for Haiti’s population to become stable and self-sustaining, there must be a paradigm shift in the approach organizations use in deploying their assistance. AHVED’s goal is to deliver assistance in a way that allows Haiti to grow, develop and prosper one community at a time.
